Product Manager

Primary Responsibilities
  • Be the bridge between customers, engineering, and sales
    • Be the liaison between the Agile team and outside constituents (sales/customer)
    • Guide and direct the Agile team on a daily basis as the voice of the customer
    • Accept User Stories presented as complete at the end of sprint demonstration. Reject those that do not meet acceptance criteria.
  • Be the subject matter expert on new products from conception to the support phase
    • Work in a “functional team” of typically 4-10 consisting of dev, QA, automation, tech writer
    • Provide an “inside look” of the products so the support and development teams can understand what they’re responsible for
    • Define “acceptance criteria” for each User Story based upon in depth knowledge of customer expectations.
    • After release, working with the PM’s and Sales team to understand what they built and how it makes things better
  • Market Analysis and Industry Research
    • What is the competition doing?
    • How would these new products affect the industry and our place in the market?
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing or a Technical Discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager
  • Willing to locate initially for up to 1 year in the DC area then transfer to the West Coast headquarters in Los Angeles
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral. Experience communicating with all levels of an organization including Management, SME, User and technical resources.
  • Experience acting as an agile Product Owner on behalf of the Business Users. CSPO or similar certification highly desirable.
  • Fluent with agile management tools such as the Atlassian Suite.
  • Proven ability to Devise or modify procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operation time, and form of desired results.
